Check this out: http://www.thankyoutony.com.

I love the article by John O'Neil appearing today on the Wall Street Journal.

Today mark the first time the polls show that the president is ahead of John Kerry and that Michigan is no longer a given for Mr. Flip-Flop. I thought Mr. No-Backbone Albert Gore was bad in 2000, but now I think Gore look way too consistent compare to this four-term most liberal senator from Massachusetts who has nothing to show for his 20 years in the US Senate. This is a truly land of opportunity even for people like him. If the trend continues, I wonder who would be the Democrat nominee for 2008.

Beside senator Kerry and president Bush, who else is running this cycle? Check out: http://www.opensecrets.org/presidential/index.asp.

I really don't like the way NBC is covering the Olympic games in high definition. Tonight, they showed the gymnatic gala, who cares? I want the games, I don't need gala.

Americans for Prosperity Foundation and the American Legislative Exchange Council is hosting a brunch on Tuesday but that conflicts with the Compassion Across America volunteering event, which all the delegates are encourged to participate. Let's see if they will move it to either Wednesday or Thursday.

There is a pro-American film festival coming up, will have to check it out when I come back from New York: http://www.afrfilmfestival.com.

Missed most of congressman Jeb Hensarling to the Dallas area College Republicans because I got out of a meeting at work late. Got to hear congressman Pete Sessions laid out his priority though. Met Erica and Bryan face-to-face for the first time after exchanging emails for a while. Didn't get to meet Pam because she left early. I like the new headquarter except I almost got locked in the parking garage.

Got my GOP Team Leader umbrella and water bottle today. I really like the umbrella.

A friend showed me this and I really like it: http://www.realclearpolitics.com.

Mr. S. had a massive stroke and passed away this morning, it's so sad that I didn't get a chance to see him last week. He was battling with prostate cancer but otherwise, he was healthy and I was hoping to see him this week.

Today, DFWAACC board of directors had their full board meeting at the Oak Ridge Country Club and I was formally approved to be one of their new directors.

Yesterday, I finally found time to come in to the Carter Bloodcare location in Addison and let the staff drew the 16th pint of blood out of me. Got my 2 gallon donor lapel pin.

We are starting to look at a new facility for our church. The one we have our eyes on is currently appraised at $612,520 according to county records. We'll pray to see if God's willing ....

I am just a little concern about all these protesters at the GOP convention in two weeks. Let's hope New York will provide the best security possible.

Did a good show on the radio today, we talked for a whole hour about the elections, the Coburn, Keyes, and Coronado races. We then spent time talking about the Electoral College.

An informative site to learn about the electoral college: http://www.presidentelect.org/.

The VPS charity banquet went well Saturday night after the lost of power on UTD campus and we had to move the morning training to Westin. I didn't get to go to sleep until 03:00 on Sunday morning. VPS had a full day schedule but I had gone to Texans for Life abstinence speaker training in the morning and then to the Collin county YR event in the afternoon so I felt guilty and decided that I better stayed really late to help. Dropped off the stuff from my truck at Duc's place on Sunday morning before I went to church.

We had a good session of brainstorming and planning at aTruong's house last night. It's a shock to everyone else last night when aTuan told us about the American basketball team lost but since I wasn't a big basketball fan, I took it real well.

Be careful what you blog so you don't get fired like Jessica Cutler, the staffer for senator Mike DeWine from Ohio.

Another interesting website: http://www.hillzoo.com/.

Had a photo op with former HUD secretary Mel Martinez, who is running for the senate seat in Florida, senator John Cornyn, congressman Pete Sessions, and the North Texas delegates for the community project in the spirit of No Child Left Behind, giving school supplies to the kids at the Family Gateway Center in downtown Dallas.

Interesting indeed: http://www.gun-nuttery.com/rtc.php.

I was invited to share my thoughts about the upcoming Republican National Convention at the Metrocrest Republican club meeting tonight. We had five speakers tonight: Fred Meyer, Texas chairman of the Bush finance committee, Chris Chapman who is organizing the Mighty Texas Strike Force, Jane Burch, the SREC9 committeewoman, Bernie Francis, delegate #2 of congressional 24, and me. I had to rush through and so didn't touch on the new revised embryonic stem cell research, or about reaching out to Asian Americans for the president and the party, or recruiting people to help me with precinct 1717 for Pete Sessions.

Great breakfast with US House speaker Dennis Haster at the Royal Oak Country Club. I was so under-dressed in polo shirt and jean while everyone was in business formal at 7:00 in the morning. I was hoping for a photo op with the speaker but it didn't happen. Got to meet congressman Michael Burgess and one of his staff though.

Interesting: http://www.fundrace.org/neighbors.php.

I am now officially an NRA lifetime member.

A great fundraising for Pete Sessions organized by the Northern Dallas Pachyderm and the Taiwanese chamber of commerce tonight at the May Dragon restaurant. Got to meet and had picture taken with Greg Knapp of KLIF 570AM Fox affiliate, the keynote speaker of the night.

The road getting into the park from highway 580 was just so bad, loose gravel road. It was midnight when we finished pitching the tent but it was so hot, I was sweating like a pig. Gorman Falls wasn't all that spectacular either. The camp site was kind of expensive, $14 per night without electricity or water.

Had a good working lunch with the DFWAACC board yesterday. Met a few more people who are on the board but weren't there at the last meeting.

Got my aluminum case for the PDA but I am very disappointed: no cutout for power, synch, or the card slot. Should have look at what is available at: http://www.extremepda.com.

Going to the Colorado Bend state park later today to check out the site and will come back tomorrow.

Had a good meeting with the Dallas County Young Republican yesterday. We had a short meeting and then helped packing up everything for the move of Dallas County Republican Party headquarter to a new building, which suppose to have a much better office layout and more parking spaces.

It is so encouraging that Sheri Valera, a 21-year old University of Florida political science major and a fellow delegate to the 2004 Republican National Convention, believing in not kissing until her wedding day. The interview in the Fall 2003 edition of Orange and Blue University of Florida magazine: http://www.jou.ufl.edu/Pubs/onb/F03/liplocked.htm

By SCARLETT WILLIAMS

There's a Gainesville legend that says if a University of Florida student graduates and is still a virgin, a brick will fall from Century Tower. But what will happen if one graduates before sharing his or her first kiss? Will the Tower just crumble to pieces? Well, we'll see when political science junior Sheri Valera finishes school.

While it might seem unbelievable that this head-turning, green-eyed brunette has never kissed a boy, it's true. Valera has decided to wait until marriage to lock lips. Through her no-kissing stance, she's determined to set an example for girls to have higher standards and to wait until they meet "the one."

O&B: What's up with the no kissing policy?
Sheri: To guard my heart. It protects me emotionally and spiritually.

O&B: If a guy were to kiss you, how would you feel?
Sheri: I'd slap him because that shows he is thinking only of himself.

O&B: Don't you get the urge?
Sheri: Sure, but when I spend time with a guy, I surround myself with friends to not put myself in the situation.

O&B: Does this mean you have kissed dating goodbye as well?
Sheri: No, but the guy has to initiate it.

O&B: Do kissing scenes in movies make you squirm?
Sheri: Some movies I'm like 'Awww.' But most movies, the girl is too good for the guy. I'm like 'NOOOO! Get your hands off! R-E-S-P-E-C-T!' and want to sing Aretha Franklin.

O&B: Are you nervous about your first kiss being in front of everyone at your wedding?
Sheri: Yeah. But at the same time it will be a great encouragement to a lot of younger girls who are single.

I was able to walk a little over an hour today. Barbara called me today and asked where she can get yard sign. She saw all these Frost signs and she's not going to do nothing. It's pitiful that Martin Frost is afraid to put the word Democrat on his sign, avoiding the Democratic National Convention in Boston. But like Patricia said, there's nothing you can do on November 2nd when there is a (D) next to your name, baby!

Sunday, August 01, 2004

Had a good walk continue to cover precinct 1717 for Pete. Saw that Mr. Frost had 2 4x4 sign out on Beltline, one at Coit and the other at Abrams, as well as a whole bunch of smaller ones.
